The fully restored water plant in Terdal is from the 19th century and includes a sawmill, grain mill, collection pond, sluices and 4 water wheels.
The plant shows how the force of water was harnessed for industrial use before the arrival of electricity. The mills were first described by Alfred Joleik in the 17th century, and the concentration of such an array of technologies and functions on one site is unique in Sogn og Fjordane.
